This guide is in ‘Windows 7 install on a USB stick, that’ will use the operating system on any computer with a USB port and minimum requirements for Windows 7.

Before you start make a backup copy of your operating system, always better to be cautious.

Here is the kit of tools to get a key to install Windows 7:

- A USB device (at least 4 gb)

- The ISO (disk image virtual) installation of Windows 7 (Microsoft has made available Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 with endless legal installation keys that expire June 1, 2010. To download information and click here)

Proceed:

- Insert the USB stick

- Open the command prompt with administrator privileges (For users of Windows XP, the prompt is going to Start / Run / cmd and for Vista users Vista logo / Search (bottom left) / Run / cmd) .

- Type “diskpart” and press the Enter key

- Type “list disk” and press the Enter key

Take note of the number that your operating system has assigned to the USB key (in this guide will be identified as “Disk 1″)

- Type the following commands, remembering that you need to replace the number “1″ that corresponds to your USB stick:

* Select disk 1

* Clean

* Create partition primary

* Select partition 1

* Active

* Format fs = ntfs

* Assign

* Exit

- Place anything without closing the disc to install Windows 7 (if you downloaded the ISO you have to write it to CD / DVD)

- Take note of the letter assigned to the DVD and USB memory stick (we use “E” for the DVD and “H” for the USB stick)

- Return to command prompt and type:

- Type “E: cd boot” and press Enter;

- Type “cd boot” and press Enter;

- Type “bootsect.exe/nt60 h” and press Enter;

- Copy the entire contents of the disk of Windows 7 in the USB stick (which is why we need at least 4GB of memory);

- Restart your PC;
